Baryonyx is a genus of theropod dinosaur which lived in the Barremian stage of the early Cretaceous Period, about 130€“125 million years ago. The holotype specimen was discovered in 1983 in Surrey, England, and the animal was named Baryonyx, which means "heavy claw" and alludes to the animal's very large claw on the first finger.

A Baryonyx was a carnivorous dinosaur with a head shape and a gap that was very similar to a crocodile

Baronyx lived 120 million years ago and survived by eating fish and carrion.
It could be approx. 9 meters long and weighs approx. 2 tons.
It got its name from its very violent thumb claw of approx. 30 cm.
Remains of it have been found in England and North Africa.

Most children love to hear about prehistoric animals.
Playing with animals exercises the child's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and is a wonderful role play.
